Brenda May Gallery is pleased to be adding two new sculptures by Todd Fuller to the stockroom. According to Fuller, "'My Favorite Hoodie' is a piece about the guises we adopt, it is a piece that is meant to be viewed from the back so that its lack of a figure is a secondary surprise to the cute and fluffy tail. It is about what happens when our roles or personas become autonomous."
"'An Untitled Angel' comes from a family of angels I did a few years back, they lack wings or have dishevelled broken ones. I often make Untitled Angels for friends or family in times of need as a token of support. They sit on stools which are personal references to my grandfather who required high stools in his older years due to his failing body. The angels however are not strong or confident or omnipotent or any of the other characteristics we would typically call angelic, instead in a private moment they expose their vulnerabilities and the weight of their burden."
